o.O i'm on edge

Hehe, you conveyed this battle tension so well, i'm looking around for the charging enemy O.O. Like there's the slightest bit of glory in the beginning around 0:15, then it shifts into something a little more aggressive at 0:30, then it finally breaks into the evilish, dark, foreboding tentacles of warrish thing at 0:58, the theme that appears at about 1:10, works in this feeling of apprehension, and the climax at 1:27-ish with the cymbals and the strings ( i think?) was crazy. When it ended, it was like "Here they Come!" Lol, sorry, I have quite an imagination XD. And so do you, I can see (hear). Great job, I went through quite an array of images and emotion listening to this. I guess my favorite part was how you opened up with that drumming and then the bass drums between 0:50 and 1:00. Awesome, awesome, I really enjoyed this.

thanx for the beautiful review, quite imaginative ... i could never imagine things on music, for me, music is just about sounds and feelings ... guess i need from time to time someone to put images on that
hope you'll like also the happy/jazzy stuff i have here

I loved this, it had some great twists!

At 41, that was pure genius, breaking into that theme. Then it borke down into that metallic theme and kept up a high energy level with some great background variance until around 1:25, when it went into high pitched electronic stuff, and then back again shrotly after 1:40. The rest of the piece was a nice break from the convential MK remixes. at 2:25, I loved the heavy theme on the MK, along with the singular notes in the back around 2:45. Great ending, I kind of liked those three little things at the very end, remined me that it was some good guitar throughout it. I hope you don't think i'm too weird with the way I break down my music reviews ;) but I loved this piece, i'm def downloading it =).

It'd be great if everyone commented like you ;)
I wasn't too happy with the ending I did, but I'm glad someone liked it :D

Has a life of its own

I loved how at he beginning, you let the beeping fade out, and then just as it was about to disappear, you started it again. The break-in at 0:35 was nice.

This piece has a jazzy, relaxed sorta feel and you keep enough variation throughout the lines to keep the lsitener interested. It soudns like you have at least three tracks going at any given time. At 2:00 you completely changed it around and the piano sounds became dominant, then shifted into the electronic bleeps. This worked nicely in my opinion because you then built off of that and set up the ending, which while a bit abrupt... I can't think of a better way to end the song than a fade-out, maybe just a longer one. Whatever, I loved the piece, very relaxing with a twist of something else added in, which gave the music some real character.

Hey CrunchyOrphan, thanks a lot for the excellent review. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I will post a bulletin when it is fully completed and uploaded to my myspace account. I have an interesting idea as to how it should end. Thanks again for the review. It was very informative. =)

Sound like the title 8)

mm, I loved that crescendo buzzing at ten, and how it came back in the form of that bassy beat from 30 seconds and at 45 seconds and then you had the new beat at around 55. It seemed to kind of let off at about 1:10 though, like you were preparing for something faster. It kind of makes it a trance piece asking to be given some fast electronic confusion. For a beginner it's impressive, and it kind of reminds me of a message about the future or something... I don't know I talk alot, and I think half of what I say, others understand it ^_^... basically, good job, I enjoyed it, but I hope to see some more stuff from you, I can't wait to see how you apply your talent into more complex and longer pieces.

mister-darling responds:

wow thanks, and yes, its pretty much my first.
il try and work on a bigger project soon :]

Has potential, try developing it =)

It's good, it develops a little around 45 seconds, and then at about 1:05 with that harpsichord - like sound. I would wonder what this would sound like with a quiet track layed on top with some higher pitched sounds and then some deeper guitar / drums that you mentioned in the comments. At the moment, it has potential, I would recommend working on it a bit though, to give it some life.

XxCowMeatxX responds:

thanks alot for the help man. im glad my first review was helpful. thanks alot again!

Really powerful...

The orchestral theme changed perfectly into the techno, because you managed to maintain the really profound theme that the piece started off with. The mix of the bass and drums was balanced extremely well with the heavier electronic themes. The only thing I would say, and it's not a bad thing, is to make this longer. That way you could pull out the orchestral theme a bit more and maybe add a couple cool things. I have a suggestion, feel free to take it or leave it, but I play the violin pretty well, also the electric violin, and I think this would sound awesome with a violin solo somewhere in it, playing the bit in the beginning. Nice job though, this song has some great tones in it.

MrPikkis responds:

Well thank you CrunchyOrphan :D. Really appreciate constructive reviews.

I've been trying to make some kind of solo of some instrument, but I just can't come up with anything :( But I'll keep working on it! Thanks!

Great piece, funny too =)

The only thing I noticed was that the notes at the beginning seemed pretty sticcatto and short and out of feeling with the background. After 1:30 though, it pulled together. There are so many interesting squeaks and effects that you planted throughout this, it makes it a unique, surprising and ultimately enjoyable experience hearing your music. Lots of people do not understand or appreciate trances like this, but true enjoyment comes from listening for the music to tell you a story (i know, i'm being dramatic) and it will be far from boring. The only thing I would suggest would to add that guy repeating "there is life in space" at the very end. My favorite thing was the squeaking noise, that, and the cosmic feel you gave to this.

Hypertails33 responds:

Wow thanks for the great review. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and theres no need to think your being overdramatic, you have a good point. I guess I didn't think about adding the 'Life in Space' thing at the end but you are right, it would have made it better.

Very trance-like

Ahhh, I just like to turn the volume way up and lean back and listen to this. And it's something we can all relate to. Great way to speak of how games bring us all together in a way, in the same way that this song has brought 14,000 people together to share the nostalgia. I also notice that you respond to most all of the reviews... Big kudos to that, most popular artists say that they like reviews but never answer questions or explain things.

I also liked how the song was long enoug to enjoy =) Oh yeah, and the ending made me laugh ^^

SkyMarshall responds:

Look at that ... 14.000. Thats cool. I forget to check up on those things. Jesus christ. But yeah, thanks for that man :) I answer every review ofcourse ... people take the time to write a review they absolutely dont have to write, so least I can do is reply :) The ending is pure rofl, I know :) Just had to put in in to give it an interesting ending that would fit the theme. Thanks for the review man =)

Great

I loved it, just its kind of odd with the piano at the beginning, and then it gets the violent bass, but it a cool contrast, and takes the listener by surprise. Maybe tthus the title, but yeah, the zipping sounds around 1:50 were great, they added an almost funny but still instense mood to the whole piece. The calming down at at around 2:30 was good, it kind of reset the music and launched into it again, preparing us for the ending.

LiquidEvolution responds:

Yea', I've been told time and time again that the piano needs to go but it's an old song so I can't really bothered but ya', thanks for the review :).

o.O

can I smoke some of that crack you are smoking?

hm...I like the guitar a bit at least. The quality is a bit grainy though. It's hard for me to appreciate this genre, but one thing I did really like in this was the rob zombie - ish guitar in the background. Trying hard to be nice about it, but I would work on the vocals a bit. And the quality...it's really hard to make out the words. But remember, keep making more stuff, you will get better!

cultdeadcow responds:

As can be seen in the description, this is from a cassette that we put out in 1994, hence the graininess.

Thanks for the review.
